Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D)

Most dance schools follow a dance examination board and dance exam syllabus.

At Dance Act we study the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D Examination) for Ballet, Tap & Modern. This Syllabi has been used to train professional dancers throughout the world in both full & part time dance training facilities for many years.

It is also excellent for giving recreational dancers the know how needed to work through the grades enabling them to progress to the best of their ability in a structured program, whilst enjoying their classes.

Although these examinations are not compulsory, we feel they are beneficial, gradually building their strength, ability and confidence. Only when the student displays the discipline and ability required to meet the grade will we encourage an examination to be taken in the appropriate genre. The exams can be a nervous time for some, but
we ensure they are well prepared and mindful of the process and expectation of the examiners.

Our students experience a wonderful and rewarding feeling of achievement when successfully completing an exam as recognition to progress to the next level.

Baby Ballet and Disney Pop takes place on a Friday and Saturday.
